"I met Elizabeth Samuals a year ago, when I was moving to Raleigh from Indiana. My husband had accepted the position of Chancellor at NCState. We moved to the Chancellor’s residence which was definitely a challenge. The challenge was to incorporate my furniture and style into the beautiful furnished residence that was built in the 1920’s.  Elizabeth was recommended to me from a friend. I called her while still living in Indiana. She was great.. I had no idea how to do long distance  decorating. She immediately took charge. She had me send pictures of furniture I wanted to incorporate as well as colors I was interested in.  We then met for the first time at the residence on a visit before we moved. I was so impressed. First she was just a delight to meet and work with.  We immediately became fast friends. But as a decorator she was right on target. She knew our time was limited so she was ready with great ideas, placement of my own furniture, as well as using the furniture already in the residence and making it work. We recovered some pieces to give the residence a fresher look, but keeping with the tradition that had existed. We picked warm paint colors highlighting the beautiful details of the house, such as crown moldings and wood flooring, existing oriental rugs, and antique furniture. Elizabeth did all of this with just meeting with me once. When we moved in it felt perfect.   She was able to incorporate my furniture throughout the house making it feel like the beautiful, comfortable home that reflected my style as well as serving as a residence used for entertaining. I have had more people come through the house saying it never looked so warm and beautiful. I found a great decorator, as well as a great friend. I would recommend her to anyone. She now is helping me decorate a beach house we recently purchased. Can’t wait to see what she comes up with. I know it will be fantastic, and I know we will have a great time working together." -Susan Woodson

"My first experience with Elizabeth was a little more than ten years ago, when I asked her to assist my firm in furnishing our office in Raleigh.  While I wanted an impressive, “uptown” look, I also had budget considerations.  She worked hard with our staff and me and the final product was quite impressive...always enjoyed “showing off” our office to clients, and more importantly, she created a comfortable and efficient work environment.  Recently, I asked Liz to help my wife and me “refurbish” our Raleigh home at Gardens on Glenwood, and she again exceeded our expectations by providing a very practical living environment, and one we are proud to share with friends and family.  I have found her, on both occasions, to not only be tasteful and elegant, but also very practical and conscious of costs.  And, on top of it all, she is a “hoot” to work with... quite chic with an engaging personality." -Bob Whitley, Whitley Law Firm

"I hired Elizabeth to bring my dated beach condo into the 21st century.  Elizabeth helped me focus my vision for the space and offered many suggestions I never would have come up with on my own.  From wall colors to furniture choices to remodeling the kitchen – she did it all, completely transforming my tired old condo into a fresh new paradise." -Diane Chamberlain, Award Winning Author

"Several years ago, Elizabeth helped my husband Randall and me decorate our new, custom built home. For our breakfast room, Randall wanted Windsor chairs with saddle seats like the ones he remembered , as a child, in his grandfather's home.  Elizabeth brought us seven or eight Windsor chairs, one at a time, until Randall gave his approval.  She never tried to convince him to accept any of the chairs that weren't quite right.  In fact, she told us that if she didn't leave us jumping with joy over the selections she presented to us, then she wasn't doing her job.  that was her attitude during the entire project. Elizabeth saved us lots of money, she was personable and professional, and she did what she said she was going to do in the time frame in which she said she would do it.  Over the years, we have called on Elizabeth many times.  Whether redecorating our beach house, furnishing our barn apartment, or just recovering a chair, she has approached each project with enthusiasm and excitement.  Elizabeth is simply the best!" -Susan Ward, Trustee, N.C.S.U.
